STORY AND PHOTOS BY HARRY R. HINDMARSH

The blue marlin is a marvel of natural

 engineering, with its anatomical, physio-

 logical, and behavioral adaptations finely

tuned to its role as an apex predator. Their

ability to travel long distances, combined

with their impressive speed and hunting

techniques, allows them to dominate their

 marine environment.
