1,062lb GRANDER | 2009
WMO TOURNAMENT RECORDS
There have only been two granders caught
in the 50 year history of the WMO and that
occurred in back-to-back years of 2009-2010.
The first of those granders, and the first ever
caught off the coast of Maryland, was brought
in by Bob Ferris fishing on No Problem. The
giant blue had an overall length of 15 feet 9
inches and weighed in at 1062 lbs.

99lb WHITE MARLIN | 1980
There have been several 90-plus pound white marlin brought to the scales over the last five
decades, but the 99 lb. white caught by Steve Bass aboard the Top Hat in 1980 has stood
the test of time. Forty-four years later, it remains as the largest white marlin in our history.
Bass celebrated by blasting Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries from his dock slip #1 at Harbour
Island and handing out bottles of champagne!
