 99lb WHITE MARLIN | 1980

There have been several 90-plus pound white marlin brought to the scales over the last five
decades, but the 99 lb. white caught by Steve Bass aboard the Top Hat in 1980 has stood
the test of time. Forty-four years later, it remains as the largest white marlin in our history.
Bass celebrated by blasting Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries from his dock slip #1 at Harbour
Island and handing out bottles of champagne!
